St. John's Lutheran Church is located in the small community of Essex in southwest Iowa. St. John's is a member of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of America (ELCA).
Church services are held every Sunday at 10:45 AM.
St. John's Lutheran Church has been a part of the Essex community since 1876. We invite you to visit and learn more about our church and the love that God has for you.

Our Mission
We, the members of St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church of Essex, Iowa believe in God the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit and know that God so loved the world that he sent his Son, Jesus Christ, to be our Savior. We recognize that God's word is found in the Holy Scriptures and through prayerful study of these Scriptures, God's will is made known to us.
